Well it took me 4 days to get here and get settled in. We had our first hike. It was an assessment hike to see what level everyone is. And there were hills - lots and lots of hills. I managed to stay with the front group on the flat parts but as soon as we hit a hill I was in the middle. The back group ended up turning around early so that made me the back person and I got my own guide. There are 3 guides per group, one in the front, one in the middle and one who is always last. The middle guy and I made it all the way to the MASH site. We also saw the Planet of the Apes site.
My guide was nice, he pointed out plants;sage, CA walnut, fennel and poison oak and animals; deer and woodpeckers.
The first water class was super crowded and then since they were doing some construction to the gyms, we had classes outside. I am really enjoying the weather.
I know this is going to blow you away but I am having trouble eating all the food. We only get about 1,200 calories a day and there is a lot of it. I am forcing it down.
Calories burned on day 1 - 4,608. Calories in a pound - 3,500 - calories I consumed 1,100. So day one and I should be down a pound.
8:30pm is my new bedtime.

Whooo!!! How long was the hike? Are you sore from the hike. 1200 calories ha? OOOK. I'll see what I can do. Good luck on day 2.
ReplyDeleteSuper excited for you....makes me want to start exercising again. ( Made me remember the hike in Peru and yeah I had my own tour guide plus Mike because I was the last on the trails!) Send pictures when you can. Good luck on Wednesday Day 3! cant wait for updates.
